PCC's victim service acknowledged for its high standard of care

Victims of crime can be confident that support is “first rate” as Victim Lincs is awarded a national quality mark.

Victim Lincs, a service delivered on behalf of the Police and Crime Commissioner, provide independent support and information to anybody in Lincolnshire that has been the victim of crime - regardless of whether they have chosen to make a report to the police or not.

The Victims Choice Quality Mark has been awarded by Supporting Justice CIC in recognition of the “high standards of victim care work” and the way in which Victim Lincs staff made people feel “valued and listened to”.

David Kenyon, Head of Business Development at Supporting Justice said: “Victim Lincs provides an excellent service and a high standard of victim care.

“We are delighted to have been able to award a Quality Mark to Victim Lincs which has continued to provide a first rate service to victims during a period of great difficulty due to the Covid 19 pandemic and we congratulate all those who have made this possible.

“Our assessment shows a service dedicated to continuous improvement, a culture of effective collaboration and support among colleagues and a determination to support victims of crime to cope and recover.”

The Victims Choice Quality Mark is an independent assessment of the quality of the service provided to victims and witnesses. It is designed to provide confidence to those who may need to access the service in the future and to help commissioners determine if their resources are being targeted and spent effectively.

PCC Marc Jones has expressed delight to the news. He said: “Victim Lincs provide an excellent service to victims and survivors and it is fantastic to have it formally recognised.

“I am extremely proud of the staff within the team and the high-quality service they provide. The accreditation process is detailed and thorough, so to receive the Quality Mark is testament to their dedication and tireless work in helping victims and survivors to cope and recover after their experience.”
