Andrew Middleton

Andrew has lived or worked in Lincolnshire for seven decades, and has over fifty years’ experience in public service, mostly in education and the NHS. His 36 years teaching and leading in Lincolnshire’s further education colleges culminated in 18 years as Principal of Stamford College. Additional, part-time, education roles were as an inspector for Ofsted of leadership, management and governance, a tutor for the Open University, council member of the National College for School Leadership, and as an education consultant.

Over the last 16 years he has served as a board member of six NHS commissioning organisations (four in Lincolnshire), the most recent being East Riding of Yorkshire CCG and Derby and Derbyshire CCG, where he is Chair of Finance in each. Other NHS committee roles include chair or member of audit, remuneration, quality, primary care commissioning, clinical audit and clinical excellence awards. He is also an independent added member of Lincolnshire County Council’s Audit Committee and is the Independent Person for complaints against elected members in two district councils.
